The winner of our 2025 Young Talent Award was Steven Osorio, from Chicago, USA.

We are now inviting applicants for the Young Talent Award 2026. The award was created in memory of the late Mike Durham, founder of the Classic Jazz Party. Mike was keen to champion younger musicians, and many of the Classic Jazz Party “regulars” benefited from his early encouragement.

The award is open to young musicians from any country around the world, aged 18 to 25, who play classic jazz. Winners will receive free entry to the Classic Jazz Party, travel and accommodation, access to rehearsals, and a £1,000 cash bursary to further their work.
